If you are paying for Microsoft 365 and don't want all the AI, CoPilot and Cloud shite then enter chat with them and tell them you want the basic version. It isn't available directly from the web site - you have to go and hassle them and it is £50 a year cheaper. You are paying the extra £50 for AI

It's Friday. And I want you to enjoy these fabulous eels from a 19th C. children's reader, printed on cloth. Also note the resplendent goat. That's a goat you could take home to meet your mother. Or...is it? Have a eely good weekend, 'y'all! 🗃️🧪

The public made noise for Liam Ramos and it got him released from Dilley. Now we must make noise for 7 year old Diana Crespo. Her parents were taking her for emergency medical care when ICE grabbed them, and she’s rotting in the camp sick and exposed to measles. Get them out!

The thing I love about UK Scouts is that sometimes it’s very outdoorsy and practical skills and sometimes it’s… walking round town testing chila to see which shop’s chips taste best. Looking forward to hearing my Explorer Scout’a opinion on this as she is a fussy creature!

One thing that is true in this age of "AI" is that authenticity is going to be prized more than ever before. A single hand-scrawled sign is going have more impact than the smoothest "AI" image because the people seeing it knows it comes from someone's brain, not a tuned algorithm.

In my last job, I was part of a Copilot working group which had participants from across the whole (large) company. Our conclusion was that it was useful for summarising meetings or parsing through email threads but otherwise it made everything worse. We recommended it for “senior managers only”.

Photo by Pierre Lavie. Yes this is me. And I threw my Leica. It landed on the bass plate with hardly a scratch. Another Photographer grabbed it along with my phone and I was able to track him later. I was held face down tear gas deployed right in front of me and pepper sprayed directly into the eye.
