Out photographing a gig for a mate last night. Didn't want to use flash as it would kill the vibe. Opted for a shutter speed at 1/160 and let the ISO do its thing. Holy cow - ISO 25,600 and a quick squirt through gentle Topaz de-noise and I'm impressed.

Fun event today - seminar / training on being a photography judge. Loads if fun interaction and I've no put myself forward to be on the list of judges.

Stand up and be counted. Tomorrow I'm on a training course / event to learn how to be a photo competition judge. Competitions are an important part of many clubs - but without judges there are no competitions. All being well I'll be the 3rd judge my club is able to put 'on the circuit'.

First fibreglass kit seemed to do a very good job so as it is a high footfall area (corridor to toilet) I've deployed the second kit. Just need to de-stink the boat now before the good lady gets homed or we'll be overnighting in the camper tonight.

Living on a narrowboat brings some challenges - photo 1 is the result of photo 2's set up. A dead bee, a clover head, small desk vice and an Asda carrier bag for a backdrop. A reminder that you don't always need the fancy gear and set up.

Is it the ideal day to use a fibreglass kit indoors & poor 1/2 litre of resin? No. Is today the ideal one to need the front & back doors and half the windows open? Also no. Does the job need doing? Sadly yes.
