saw an interview of danny brown talking about his new song collab with underscores and he talks about how inspiring her album wallsocket was to him, revisited it and god damn in retrospect wallsockets is album of the year 2023. i loved it already but god damn it’s so unbelievably good

i missed this album the first time around and i’m finding it really interesting. she uses a hard noise gate as an instrument in a way that i would compare to jai paul’s extreme use of side chain compression. the songs are a wild mash of genres but it all works. will be spinning this one again.
