I always admired Kaleb Horton's writing so much and am terribly sorry to hear of his death. It's a long list of singular writers who didn't have the careers they should have because of the people, places, and things that killed online media, but his name is right at the very top. I hate all of it.

Someone Has To Save The Film And TV That Studios Wonât | Defector
HBO had a series of legendary stand-up specials in the 1990s, and one of the best of those came from a performer who was not a comedian. Ricky Jay and His 52 Assistants was incredibly funny, but Jay w...

Tom Brady is the only NFL broadcaster I've ever heard who doesn't sound absolutely out of his mind with delight at getting to call a play involving a stiff-arm. He was reaching for it, he knows he's supposed to do it, but he just lacks the buccal fat at this point.

Most embarrassing thing I've enjoyed recently: The "In Search of Darkness" movies, extremely long pseudo-docs in which 80s horror movie creators/stars (and eventually fans) talk about their work. That's it. Like 6-hour convention panels. And I loved it.

If I had to capture the essence of ârightwing populismâ I think I would cite the time in 1774 Virginia slaveowner Richard Henry Lee wanted to protest new taxes levied by the British so he forced his slaves to protest the tax hike on his behalf with banners denouncing the taxes as "chains of slavery"

I mistakenly identified Glen Powell (actor) as Glen Perkins (retired Minnesota Twins closer) and can see the entire rest of my life from here. It's nothing but this, in increasing intensity and frequency, all the way to the end of the line. Honestly it feels amazing.
