I love Will Self and he was wonderful on Front Row. I’ve never heard him laugh before so that was a bit disconcerting.

Rain all day again but with mist for variety. Didn’t stop a man in the village from going round in shorts and T shirt. Reminds me of the Ray Bradbury story All Summer in a Day, set on Venus where it has rained non-stop for 8 years. The sun comes out for an hour & the children are let out to see it.

The amaryllis fell over under the weight of its own magnificence so I’ve had to put it in a vase. The camera doesn’t capture it but its petals are slightly glittery.
