For me, AI-usage defeats the whole point of writing. Namely, that I want to communicate. I want to inflict *me* on a reader.

“All authors are using AI now.” Complete claptrap. I’ve been using ink and paper and journals that are in a lovely pile that have all of my ideas and plot notes on them because figuring out a story and writing it yourself is the entire point of writing. The purpose is doing the work.

never talk to cops or chatbots it's easy to not use AI to write. The closest I come is when I search for history shit and the AI response comes up first, but I know enough about history that I've personally noticed SO much misinformation in those AI results that there's no use case for it anyhow.

And here is a wetbrain method for brainstorming: Write down, on paper, with a pencil, the very first idea that comes to mind, in one sentence. Then cross it out, but don't completely obliterate it. Then do a second idea, same method. Just anything that pops in. Third idea, expand to 100 words. 🧵

Every year Pen Chalet does a little April Fools rebranding. They run a sale simultaneously and it’s harmless. This year they made a sticker that’s obviously AI generated because no fountain pen looks like this and no one would draw a fountain pen in this way. This is disgusting and I hate it.
