Having a skeet get a lot of reposts is like that scene in every submarine movie where the depth gauge just keeps going up and up while the hull creaks and everybody stands there sweating.

My take: it was hardly just that it challenged norms. To accept that handwashing was necessary meant accepting that prior to that they'd all been spreading disease and killing patients. The challenge was to their very identities.

I've seen trans ppl promoting this piece several times today, but I haven't seen a single cis person linking or praising it. It's the same old thing, an article is written FOR cis ppl but ABOUT trans ppl and yet for some reason the cis folks to whom it's addressed seem to not notice the piece.
