I work in procurement and our vendors have been rolling out AI systems and... it has been a disaster. The AI gets everything wrong and I have to navigate a labyrinthian telephone menu to get to a human to fix it. This has big "We'll colonize the moon in 10 years!" Musk energy.

All vendor IVR systems have essentially added an extra layer of menus that are AI just so you can get redirected to a person. Like you all had this system figured out and just broke it for no reason. Somehow chat bots are even worse than before?

I have been waiting for the hammer to drop of infectious disease research. Losing research funding is going to kill a lot of labs and people. Hopefully this does not impact independent labs too much, but any contracts with Moderna may have just been thrown out the window. 🫠
