Here's the additional Damage Point text from the Enderlin EF-5 survey: -33 train cars derailed -19 fully loaded grain hopper cars -1 fully loaded grain car and 4 tankers pulled away -empty tanker thrown 145m -train cars thrown 2x farther than EF-5 threshold -train cars were 4x heavier than models

in light of the kimmel news, just a reminder that a few days ago a prominent fox news host literally called for killing homeless people. right afterward, someone shot up a couple homeless encampments. that fox news host still has his job.

Around half of Canada's wildfires are caused by lightning and other natural causes (including birds dropping fish on powerlines). These burn about 80% of the acreage. Around 15% of the U.S.'s wildfires are caused by lightning. They burn about 60% of the acreage. Some fires need to burn.

I had meetings planned at the ARM User Facility site in Oklahoma Thursday. Heard the facility wanted some fresh photos so I packed my "good camera". Got up at 4:30am on Friday and very glad I did. A clearing overnight stratus deck lead to oil painting style skies. These are the times I love my job
