Lots of people know Campbell was a good athlete when young, but he was *really* good. Competed at the 1964 Olympics (QF of the men's 200m/final of the 4x100m) and held the UK 100m record. Later, studying at Stanford, he twice beat a certain OJ Simpson, then a college track athlete.
