I think the biggest success for Starmer and Badenoch is that they managed to kill the duopoly of British politics. Regardless of political persuasion you have a wide array of choices that all have about the same chance of doing well in the next national election.

Say what you want about Burnham – but unlike Starmer – he can at least articulate a vision for Britain. Bringing back housing and utilities under public control and recognising that the economy has been hollowed out by outsourcing and Brexit is a clear break with the status quo.
