Goodman makes one point that really resonated with me - and reflected what we so often say. Many of the disasters he covered in years past were acts of nature. What he found in Somalia, and heard about in Sudan, were the product of decisions. Of choices, made by people.

I am fine with the triple lock. As long as, longer term, the pension age rises in line with life expectancy. Raising income tax and cutting National Insurance by the same amount is a much better policy.
