Hopefully there is now a clear understanding across govt that unless the two-child limit is scrapped, there will be more kids in poverty at the end of this parliament than when Labour took office. The policy must go in the child poverty strategy before the life chances of many more kids are damaged.

Yesterday, Changing Realities parents sat around the table with the First Minister, John Swinney, and Cabinet Secretary, Shirley-Anne Somerville, for vital discussions about the Scottish Government’s Tackling Child Poverty Delivery Plan.

The government has committed to tackling poverty among all children, including those subject to the UK’s asylum and immigration system. But recent reforms and proposals mean that we’re likely to see poverty increase, including deep poverty among some children in immigrant families.

Nowhere (and nothing) compares to the inner Hebrides in the sunshine. Not sure I’m ready to face back to school / work / online life. Send survival tips my way.

Like so many, my six year old son is currently being totally failed in his mainstream setting where he experiences trauma linked to the gaping holes in provision he falls through (think repeat suspension and confinement when he’s dysregulated) Just imagine what this money could do instead.
