Thank you for taking part in today’s Emergency Alert test, which saw tens of millions of phones successfully receive the message across the country. The test took just seconds, but will help the government keep the country safe 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

I’m grateful to the Prime Minister for asking me to lead the Cabinet Office alongside my role as Chief Secretary to the Prime Minister in 10 Downing Street. My combined role will help me drive the government machine to deliver on the public’s priorities.

The government is committed to working with business to improve wages, create good jobs and support thriving businesses in every part of the country. Great to meet with the Institute of Directors, British Chambers, the CBI, the FSB and MakeUK today to talk about our work together.

The government is focussed on your priorities, and making sure you see real change in your life and local community. We’ve used the Spending Review to bring public services together to work as a mission led team. Budgets will be published on June 11th.

We are in an era of five party politics. But there’s only two sides. Our side: a politics of love, compassion and community. With the ideas to transform Britain. And their side: a politics of anger, division and blame. Posing only a risk to Britain. I say to the populist right: bring it on.

The world is changing, from security and defence to global trade. The government is working hand in glove with business to build a stronger and more resilient UK, and expand our trading relationships with countries around the world.

Labour has invested £26bn in our NHS and reduced waiting lists every month for the past five months. The Tories want the investment, but don’t know how to pay for it. And Reform wants you to pay for your healthcare. Reform and the Tories are all the same.

It was great to join @darrenpjones.bsky.social in Birmingham with local business leaders to discuss the important infrastructure projects that we’ll deliver in our region. Doing this at pace and scale will deliver growth and opportunity across the West Midlands.

Getting Britain building is a key part of our mission to grow the economy. We’re investing over £100bn more in capital to regenerate the country. This investment, alongside our construction skills package, will create brilliant jobs for people in every region and nation.

Great to host a criminal justice roundtable at our Treasury campus in Darlington. Our Plan for Change will deliver more police officers on our streets, tackle the prison crisis we inherited and improve public confidence in the police.

I had such a lovely visit to City of Bristol College to see how we’re supporting young people with additional needs to become independent living adults in work in the local community. Our FE colleges do a brilliant job for so many people and play a crucial role in our growth mission.

Our ten year infrastructure strategy, five year capital budgets and investment in skills and the supply chain will help get Britain building again. Infrastructure is a crucial part of our growth mission and will deliver change in every party of the country.

A sunny afternoon discussing housing and transport plans, including at Brabazon. Thousands of new homes and rail, bus and road upgrades bringing billions of pounds of investment to Greater Bristol. All part of our Plan for Change, and promise to build 1.5m new homes.

Good to be in sunny Cardiff today for our quarterly finance ministers meeting, between the UK Government, Scottish Government, Welsh Government and Northern Ireland Executive.

Dreams fulfilled. An answer to the question: what next? What’s next for me? For my family? For my community? That’s what opportunity is all about. And it’s what our Plan for Change will deliver for millions of people across the country. Change is happening.

So lovely to be back in Plymouth today for the South West Labour Party regional conference. The promise of change is really a story about the type of country we are creating. Life under a Labour government will be better.

Getting a secure roof over your head is life changing. It was heartwarming to listen to a group of new residents who have finally been able to do just that. As part of our Plan for Change, we will build 1.5m homes and increase the number of social and affordable houses.

I had a very warm welcome in sunny Liverpool from Mayor Steve Rotherham and the team today. We met with employers, colleges and universities from the region to discuss how the government’s Plan for Change will help match skills and training opportunities with good local jobs.

For the first time in 17 years, government will review how every pound of tax payers money is being spent. In the spending review, we will make sure public spending delivers our Plan for Change.
