Sourced from a friend of a friend who apparently went to the same high school as Zohran Mamdani: he was in his high school's Judaic Cultural Society. In case some people were concerned that his outreach to the jewish community was just temporary pandering, he's been an ally for decades!

this is a situation where it's important to have empathy with your enemy, so that we can understand how to use that to hurt them even more because our side won't need to feel guilt about dragging these men from their families and imprisoning them, when we do that. we will know they deserve to cry.

The basic rule of united front politics is you have to want to beat the enemy more than you want to control the coalition. You can’t trust liberals who hate leftists more than they hate conservatives. You can’t trust leftists who hate liberals more than they hate conservatives.

i guess complaining about Joe Lieberman is really a complaint that there weren't ten additional Dem senators in the 111th Congress you can actually do quite a lot with 68 senators and 295 House reps. ask LBJ about that.

The anti-establishment candidate specifically positions themselves in an adversarial role to the core of the party, both rhetorically and in terms of their *policy positioning*. They challenge core planks of the party platform or the platform as a whole. Mamdani didn't do this!

You can see this in election results from last night; chasing centrist white people isn't sufficient to win elections for Dems, even putting aside the morality of it. Support from minority groups is what makes Democratic elections winnable. Fuck bus throwing and calling it a kitchen table.

These were the obsequious headlines a Republican got for winning a race by less than 2%. Spanberger won by 15 tonight. The coverage should be absolutely apocalyptic for Rs tomorrow, but it largely wont be bc political news media sees Rs as their friends & allies & would never trash them like that
