today i went into my "Archive" dir that has my old harddrive contents from 2021. then went into the "Archive" subdir there that had my even older harddrive contents from 2008. there i found a "backup" directory with stuff from 2002. inside that i found some OCaml code for music stuff.

currently translating some c++ code into rust. most interesting things so far has been thinking about when things are mutable (always mutable in C++ yikes), lifetimes for stored references (what if they are gone???), and non-type template parameters (used for sizes of arrays to allocate???)
