I think the review cycle is hyper obsessed with new and shiny, as well as safe, despite triple AAA games rarely doing something new and that's a shame because there are so many incredible games doing weird and cool and unique things if you're open to some of the jank that comes with experimentation.

Hong Kong and Dragonfall are both amazing games! Returns isn't bad, just short. Fun tactics, interesting build options, and all three games are drenched in atmosphere.
