"For the first time this year, we're celebrating that both trans campaigns [combined] have more sign-ups than the Pride campaign," Jacey Thornton, ED for Project Rainbow said. "We had like 1,800 flags for our last TDOV, that was a record, that was March. [For Trans Awareness Week] we are at 1,450."

A hearing to decide whether to terminate US Magnesium's leases on the Great Salt Lake has been delayed in light of the company's bankruptcy filing.

Gov. Cox set a deadline for 2034, coinciding with the Olympic and Paralympic Games, to restore Great Salt Lake to a healthy level.

For eight years, the nonprofit Salt Lake Harm Reduction Project has served Salt Lake and its surrounding communities. A main goal is to provide syringe exchanges to reduce the harm caused by drug use, but "harm reduction is so much more than just giving people sterile equipment."

Republicans in Utah commissioned an investigation into gender-affirming care for trans youth after banning it in 2023. They're now rejecting the findings of that investigation which showed access to care reduced suicides and improved "positive mental health and psychosocial functioning outcomes."

After Utah HB 77 banned anything but official flags (with the sponsor vocally targeting pride flags) from schools and government buildings, Salt Lake City unveiled their official Sego Belonging Flag. Project Rainbow has some for preorder for Pride, and the money supports LGBTQ+ programming!

They needed about 140,000 signatures to get on the ballot, which is no small task, but they ended up with 320,000 to put protecting the right to collective bargaining in Utah to a vote.
