One lesson I had to learn the hard way while my mom was dying of cancer is that 95% of the time, being brave feels like absolute shit. I feel like complete and utter shit right now. But bravery isn't an emotion, its an action. Bravery isn't meant to feel good. Courage only exists in adversity.
