The protagonist of VEIL owns a bookstore called The Constant Reader Cafe, which based on a real place called Von’s Books. I’ve considered it a home away from home since my undergrad days at Purdue. It was a blast telling John (the owner) that his shop was featured in my book. He was delighted!
