Just saw this great post again and it reminded me of my old beef against "spoilers don't matter, a good film isn't spoilable": The timing with which information is revealed is important in every movie! It's as much a part of the art as dialogue or lighting,it matters at least as much as aspect ratio

The number of carve outs in this new "Earthquake Prone Building" system will cost much less in terms of building upgrades, but probably a lot more in terms of lives lost. Lower standards for towns smaller than 10k people is just silly.

Comparing respect for trans people's identities to denying documented mass death in Gaza is grotesque. One affirms human dignity. The other denies human suffering. Don't instrumentalise Palestinian deaths to attack trans people. This cynical false equivalence from Damien Grant is disgusting.

Is it just me or does a lot of the opinions in New Zealand over recognising Palestine as a state overlap with opinions regarding welfare for the unemployed? Both are based on whether you think people "deserve" help, or should have it as a basic right.

Thinking about it, I'm pretty sure all of our previous Prime Ministers would have recognised Palestine as a state by now. The fact that Luxon hasn't speaks to how much influence people like David Seymour have over the direction of the government.

Just a reminder before the “big announcement” today. Autism was discovered in 1911 and the modern definition of Autism came in 1943. Tylenol wasn’t widely used until the 1950s. Anyone trying to tell you that Tylenol causes Autism isn’t someone that should be taken seriously.
