Are we now expected to declare EVERYTHING that may be considered a criminal offence anywhere in the world? Everlee Wihongi is supposedly being held by US immigration because she didn't declare a previous conviction for possession of marijuana in New Zealand. A declaration that was not required.

Verity Johnson about idea NZ Govt is too indebted & we can’t have nice things. We’re actually rich & have low debt/gdp. The budget cutting obsession is ideological, moves wealth from young to old, & stunts NZ Inc.

Some of us will remember attempts by Jenny Shipley to create a formal binding Code of Social & Family Responsibility in the late 1990s, which would apply to those who qualified for benefits. It's in the Right's DNA to try to deny people access to their rights under cover of "responsibilities".
