Early in my career, i worked in advertising/adtech as a developer liaison between engineering and design, and the number of times I’ve seen designers get completely reamed and demeaned by clients for even slight reinterpretations of brand guidelines still haunts me. Like, group-humiliation levels.

Based on how much money companies spend on union busting and lobbying I'd say it's not a stretch to assume that they would still rather spend more money on further disenfranchising workers than it costs to simply raise wages
