I wouldn't exactly categorize the 2023 Ohio campaign that way, but we definitely made sure to run a non-partisan campaign that kept the door open for Republicans who supported abortion rights, of which there were many. People like Ezra Klein who want "pro-life Ds" are wrong in a thousand ways.

In 2024, abortion beat the Democrat on the ballot in Florida (+14), Arizona (+15), Missouri (+11), Nevada (+16). In 2022, it gave us a "blue undertow" that staved off the full red wave.

What's the point of a committee where the members can't ask the questions they need to make an informed consent of a bill?

Waiting periods on accessing abortion are incredibly harmful. Asking people to make two trips to the clinic, to buy two tanks of gas, to request two days off of work, to pay for two days of child care... all of these are undue burdens for the people you're forcing to make a second visit.
