When I signed up for a CLE yesterday at my local bar association, I saw that they were still using my headshot from just after I left law school for their directory. A little more than 10 years ago. Just a little. Well, a very big little. The other info was so out of date that I just opted out.

Has anyone seen an article in which qualified Minnesota state and federal criminal lawyers discuss the real-world options available to Minnesota prosecutors? Grand jury, secret discovery, indictment, bail, trial, state/federal intersecting evidentiary issues, speedy trial, etc.?

Every time I read about California’s bar registration process, I’m even more grateful for the competence & professionalism of the Ohio Supreme Court’s administrative staff. We have it good, here. And my sympathy to the people struggling with the California Bar administrators. It clearly sucks there.

The Ohio Supreme Court issued a detailed and coherent decision in this election dispute TWELVE DAYS after the complaint was filed. For nuts and bolts rulings like this, the court seems consistent and, IMO, tries to issue a quick, accurate, usefully precedential decision.
