Here at Northcenter Town Square where 100-200 community members including families and young children are rallying after a teacher was taken by federal law enforcement from a local daycare this morning.

Easily several hundred people have packed into this plaza in Chicago's North Center tonight in response to ICE abducting a daycare worker early this morning. This is a neighborhood that has largely been spared until now from the "Midway Blitz" terror campaign. But everyone knows someone affected.

In Gary, Indiana this morning— Community members have gathered in protest of ongoing ICE flights. This small, sleepy airport is where many captives from the Chicago area detention center are transported (frequently in the middle of the night) as the next step in the deportation pipeline.

How about printing out some fliers letting your neighbors know that on a particular day of the week, u will be cooking X extra meals and that anyone who needs one can stop by your place at X hour to pick one up no questions asked? I think it’s the machine politics of previous administrations that conditions legacy media to report on alders only within the framing of their relationship to the mayor. The sentiment is that they are an extension of the mayor’s power and not elected officials moving on their own accord.

Attended this with veteran reporter Monroe Anderson who has reported on a lot of history, including the ‘68 uprisings. This is the largest protest he’d ever seen.
