One man recounted his experience on Dec. 17, as he streamed CBP chief Greg Bovino's caravan heading up Lake Shore Drive. Border Patrol called 911 for help. CPD responded by stopping the man. Witness video shows CPD escorting Bovino's caravan away, while blocking others from following.

On Wednesday, Renee Macklin Good was fatally shot by a federal ICE agent. Becca Good, her wife, shared the following statement with MPR News.

After Minneapolis, now the ICE shooting on Christmas Eve in Maryland is getting some scrutiny from local police: “…county police confirmed The Banner’s reporting that the second person injured in the encounter was already in ICE custody, in one of the agency’s vehicles, when he was hurt.”

to be clear: this is a report issued *by the attorney general’s office* finding that multiple county sheriffs violated state law. this comes months after some of those same sheriffs admitted to journalists that they are willingly violating the law!

“The Attorney General’s Office did not respond to questions from WTTW News asking if it sought legal repercussions for those counties that did fulfill immigrant detainers and warrants and transferred individuals into DHS custody.”

Federal immigration officers shot and wounded two people outside a hospital in Portland, Oregon, on Thursday, a day after an officer shot and killed a driver in Minnesota, authorities said.

"The Department of Homeland Security plans to pause operations in Chicago — where Gregory Bovino, a Border Patrol official, has led controversial arrest efforts — to support the immigration enforcement operation in Minnesota."

The agent, Jonathan Ross, was dragged by a vehicle and injured during a June operation in the Twin Cities, court records show.

Next commenter describes installation of a new security cam in Gompers Park, and how a day laborer was chased on foot through the park and arrested days later. Several other arrests that day in the area as well. The CPD operated camera was installed at the behest of the Chicago park district.

Speaking via translator, next man up describes his experience being pulled over by CPD and prevented from observing Border Patrol in Edgewater in December. Agents called 911 several times and lied about him trying to ram their vehicle.

during public comment, alder andre vasquez says it’s been 218 days since cpd assisted ice during an operation in june and the ccpsa still hasn’t held a hearing on it. “you can’t ask an agency for evidence of misconduct and expect them to give it to you,” he says. lots of applause.

Hundreds of people have packed into Chicago's Thalia Hall tonight for a community listening session on CPD collaboration with ICE/CBP. Police district councillors who gathered petition signatures required to hold tonight's hearing are opening by thanking the community for showing out.

commissioner sandra wortham is admonishing the press not to attribute individual members’ perspectives to the entire ccpsa. members of the public shout her down. “it’s not about you!” one person yells. “times up!” says another. president terry repeatedly asks the crowd to be respectful.

ccpsa president remel terry is making a distinction between cpd cooperation on “immigration issues,” which is banned by city and state law, and “public safety issues,” which she says is allowed. she says the ccpsa will discuss the issue at the next regular meeting in february.
