The big adaptation bugbear Animorphs faced when it came out is that it was both too expensive to film and too explicit to show to its own target demographic. Even an animated version would require loads of money and be rated PG13 from episode one. Our new adaptation problem is *oh shit smartphones*

To my memory this is at least the third time they’ve tried to adapt this extremely ‘90s behemoth, between one TV show briefly produced in Canada and one movie series that never got off the ground. It’s one of my favorites so maybe this time it’ll happen!!
