I really can't state this enough. Federal agents have been teargassing parks and residential neighborhoods for weeks but didn't show up for a fight downtown today and look what didn't happen. Wishing absolute worst wishes to our occupying forces. GTFO of Minnesota.

I'm not one for false optimism. But what I witnessed today in Minneapolis was tremendous, both in scale and exuberance. It was a stunning answer to the federal assault on Minnesota, a show of solidarity that gives us something to hold on to during times that are unforgiving.

“Everybody Showed Up”: Stunning Crowds at Minnesota Day of Strike and Shutdown Against ICE
Extreme cold didn't stop the shutdown on Friday as some 100 faith leaders were arrested, residents stayed home from work, and an estimated 50,000 or more marched through downtown Minneapolis.

This is such an important point. This family tried to follow the rules. The distinction is going to get more important when they start mass deporting the people whose TPS status Trump revoked. They’ll call them “illegal” too, even though they were here legally until Trump yanked the rug.

ICE detain yet another minor child—chase him down his own street and tackle him to pavement. "I am legal! I am legal!" he cries over and over in Spanish. Agent pins the boy down in snow—he desperately tries to keep his exposed hands from freezing at -25°F wind chill temperature. Minneapolis, MN

An attempted traffic stop by two ICE agents did not involve the man they ultimately shot in north Minneapolis. Details from a FBI agent's sworn affidavit contradict what DHS officials initially stated — and later repeated for several days — about the highly charged encounter.

…aaaand there’s the benefit to Trump nominating a massive number of judges. It’s hard for something to get through appellate process without at some point getting in front of a Trump nominee who wasn’t particularly qualified and is willing to be partisan.

When passenger asked why, ICE threatened to detain them. If they said no photo, couldn't board/TBD detained.
