As Dr. Dale Caldwell and I prepare to take office tomorrow, I want to take a moment to thank staff from our transition team for their extraordinary efforts to ensure we are ready to deliver for you on Day One. Let’s get to work, New Jersey!

Today, our cabinet nominees and members of our transition staff were proud to participate in community service projects across the state in honor of the life and legacy of Dr. King. Our work is grounded in a duty to serve and we look forward to building on these efforts to serve New Jerseyans.

This Day of Service, I was grateful to join volunteers and community members at the Trenton Area Soup Kitchen to prepare meals and listen to residents. We must continue to honor Dr. King’s legacy with action and service to our communities.

It was wonderful to join so many Camden residents for a day of service at Yorkship Square and Fairview Village.

On Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day, we commit to giving back to our communities and opening doors of opportunity in New Jersey – honoring Dr. King’s legacy and fight for justice.

While the president talks about buying Greenland and raising tariffs on our allies, I'm laser-focused on what actually matters to New Jerseyans: making life more affordable.

I was so happy to attend my good friend and former roommate @abigailspanberger.com’s inauguration today as she was sworn in as the first woman to serve as the Governor of the Commonwealth of Virginia. I can't wait to join your ranks soon, Madame Governor!

Our service members never serve alone — their families sacrifice along with them. That's why as your governor, I’ll work hard to ensure that our men and women in uniform and their families have everything they need when they're in the service and when they return home.

Rising electric bills are the number one concern I hear about across New Jersey, which is why I pledged to take bold action to freeze rate hikes and take on our grid operator, PJM.

This week, I was thrilled to perform the swearing in of Hoboken’s newly elected Mayor and Council Members. I’m looking forward to working together to deliver real results that improve the quality of life for New Jerseyans.

Yesterday morning, Dr. Dale Caldwell and I were honored to kick off our inauguration weekend with an interfaith service at Kirkpatrick Chapel.

At the start of our transition, I announced an ambitious and collaborative policy process – launching Transition Action Teams, an Interdisciplinary Task Force, a bipartisan Local Government Advisory Group, and a public input survey.

I'm proud to nominate Lily Laux to be our next Commissioner of Education!   Lily is a lifelong public servant and teacher.

I’m thrilled to announce that Evan Weiss will serve as CEO of the New Jersey Economic Development Authority.

I’m excited to nominate Susan Ochs to be NJ's next Commissioner of the Department of Banking and Insurance.

It was an honor to administer a ceremonial oath of office to Senator Benjie Wimberly and Assemblyman Al Abdelaziz. The people of LD35 are lucky to have Benjie, Al, and newly elected Assemblyman Kenyatta Stewart fighting for them.

I’m on a mission to deliver for New Jersey, and that means first and foremost keeping our residents safe. That’s why I'm nominating Marine Corps Veteran Tom Hauck to lead the Department of Homeland Security.

For his final State of the State Address, I want to congratulate Governor Murphy for his eight years of dedicated service to the people of New Jersey. His friendship and guidance have been a true asset during the transition and we will be ready to make our state more affordable beginning on Day One.

Yesterday, on the fourth stop of my Diner Listening Tour at the Metuchen Diner, I kept hearing what I know is true for too many New Jerseyans: life is too expensive. Next week, I'm getting right to work as governor delivering on my promise to make our state more affordable.

It was great to attend yesterday's Netflix Milestone event to celebrate the construction of their studio at Fort Montmouth. This project is already bringing good paying jobs and economic benefits to our state. I'm excited to continue to support the film industry’s progress in New Jersey.

Trump’s tariffs are raising New Jerseyans’ costs by $1,700 per family. Now, Trump is going after the independent Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell because he is refusing to bend to the President’s demands that will drive up inflation and make families pay even more.

Today, I'm nominating Victoria Kuhn to continue in her role as Commissioner of the NJ Department of Corrections.

Great news for our state: Kris Kolluri will not only be continuing in his role as President and CEO of NJ TRANSIT but I am also nominating him to lead the NJ Turnpike Authority. This dual role will help change how we think about transit in New Jersey.

Today, I'm announcing Margo Chaly as my pick to serve as New Jersey’s next Secretary of Higher Education. Margo brings years of leadership experience in helping families and students access higher education.

I applaud the Governor for taking a big step to protect our kids by making schools a safe, phone-free place to learn. Our young people are facing a mental health crisis – but, we all know that when children put the screens down, their mental health and academic results improve.

Last night, I had the privilege of assisting with the swearing in of Westfield’s newly elected council members and mayor. I can’t wait to get to work with these public servants to deliver on the most pressing issues for Westfield families, like fighting for a one seat ride for NJ TRANSIT commuters.

I am excited to announce that Lisa Asare will continue serving in my cabinet as the President and CEO of the NJ Maternal & Infant Health Innovation Authority. Lisa is known across NJ for her ability to bring communities to the table to improve access to care.
