I know it’s just an exhibition, but this team is very physical, long, so deep. Their best PG (Lowe) & best overall player (Quaintance) didn’t play. Aberdeen is very tough, very competent at PG. Mo is so solid, tough. Don’t need Oweh to go get every bucket bc there’s now about 5 guys who can. #BBN

I think these preseason games matter in that we get to see some real competition. If a coach plays his bench a ton then yeah, take that into account like you would any game. But I waited too long for college hoops to pretend this is nothing. It’s still real to me, dammit.

My favorite thing is college hoops media saying in one breath “wins and losses in exhibitions don’t matter” and following it up with “but if Team X wins in a way that surprises me it matters” with no self awareness. Only Mike Rutherford seems aware of the irony.

Kentucky certainly handled Purdue inside the arc. UK 18-22 at the rim, not a good sign for Purdue’s improvement defending there. Kentucky defense did a nice job structurally, allowing only 16 shots at the rim and 17 from three vs 24 from midrange. UK took 22, 29, and 10 respectively.

Perales is ramping up and preparing to try and make the MLB roster out of Spring Training, but he’s going to need to be on a plan similar to Trey Yesavage to manage his innings and have him optimized for next postseason. Can’t see Perales exceeding 100-120 ip. He pitched 33 in 2024 and 89 in 2025.

I have zero disagreement w/ overall DPOY choice, which should be a guide for who will get platinum glove. Rafaela is amazing, but Bailey is so much better than the next-best defensive catcher that it’s an obvious choice. I’d have Rafaela 2nd, then Tatis & PCA 4th. Betts over Witt is my only qualm.
