You know what, the exact thing the world needs now is some Olympics. People doing amazing things and being awesome, a common shared humanity and purpose. Joyous representation of country. All of it.

Reading Ben Elton's autobiography, I'm amazed to discover the existence of a 2018 Elton-scripted Kenneth Branagh film, in which Branagh plays Shakespeare and the plot 'turns on the mystery of Hamnet Shakespeare's death, along with the lack of family closure on that tragedy'. Anybody seen it?

On Epstein files: 1. Why is the press referring to girls as women? 2. Why is the press inventing a term, 'underage women', there is no such thing. 3. There is no such thing as 'sex with a child', it is called child rape or child sexual abuse. Stop minimising the criminality.

We had close to 250 people at our interfaith vigil which is about 100 more than we can comfortably fit. Folks were packed into pews, standing in the narthex, listening on in the parish hall, and sitting on folded chairs in the aisles. It was beautiful, but I’m still so upset we had need to gather. 🕯️

My 19 year old daughter left the house at 6:30am today to set up and play with her local community brass band at a citizenship ceremony event in a big community sporting field in a neighboring town, an event which has drawn hundreds of people from the community. A good thing about today.
