One of the best things about working on this game is all the sneak peeks I get into the phenomenal art work. Every scene is so detailed and awe inspiring, can't wait for y'all to see it!

any time discourse about game writing spins up I only have one thing to say which is Venba has the best writing of any game I’ve played in the last 5 years and everyone should play it

[ #gameyear25 Nr. 9 Venba] Score: 9/10 Venba beautifully tells a story about an Indian family in the USA and how to be torn between the cultural differences. It is told through dishes you cook and what can I say? It had me glued to the screen (and hungry). It is a great hidden small gem!

I don't ever expect to see myself in media—marginalized kid with no ego for that—but, it has the self-indulgent warmth of serendipitously meeting a friend when I do; and, this one was such a beautiful ride of familiar emotions. #SupportIndieDevs

this game is So Good please go play it. absolutely beautiful art in all senses, storytelling and emotion, and just a joy to play. i may or may not have cried a lot playing it. also relatable diaspora life stuff which hit especially hard. so good.

a mobile rip-off that completely sanitizes the original game of its context (re:cuisine, culture, diaspora life) and replaces it all with white bread sandwiches is a *fascinatingly* apt, albeit unintentional, metaphor.

Someone just proved how boring and shallow they are by changing the og concept to this generic whatever, and didn’t even have the skills or passion to make their own assets. Kinda symbolic.

Venba is amazing. Play it on something and make sure you don't miss it. Here's my old review photo from 2023:

Finally played and completed Venba. It was really good and gosh I swore I could taste the food through the screen, the sounds and visual effect of the popping mustard seeds frying in oil and the steam was so vivid. It was like I was in the kitchen with my mom
