Why would you want a mill? For the eels, yo! In 1211, William Blundell built a mill at Raven Meols & collected eels in rent from the miller. Later on, his family donated the mill to local monks. But they kept the rights to all those eels. Some things gotta stay in the family!

Wanted to do some kind of year end post, so here’s four books I read this year. Struggled with how exactly to frame them, but in the simplest terms, these are the books I got the most out of this year. Picking four was difficult and ultimately arbitrary, but it was a nice exercise in reflection.

Really could not think of a more succinct encapsulation of the issues with the FF7 remakes than the director going out of his way to praise far right politicians.
