I'm old enough to remember when conservatives absolutely excoriated Mamdani for creating a handful of grocery stores in food deserts.

I grew up around guys like Platner. They were from rich families but liked to act like dirtbags. They were often lowkey racist, usually white, sometimes Latino, though never Black. Their favorite insult was "tard." They called other men "bitch" and would use the word "rape" to mean "win at Halo."

One thing I don’t think men understand is that rape and assault are so ubiquitous—and so perpetually immune from consequence or recognition—that many women learn to talk about these incidents as of they’re mere inconveniences. We are not allowed to treat them with more gravity.

Half-baked but I think the left (?) people who convinced themselves staying on Twitter was defensible have not just had brains cooked by the Nazi stew but also drifted to the place where you can’t accept a decision was a bad one. Like the Twitter move has ruined the ability to assess any others.
