To me, the most unrealistic thing in Heated Rivalry is the proper punctuation while texting

In the steddyhands house Ed and Stede are watching Heated Rivalry for the 10th time and Izzy is doing the Dad Watching TV stance behind the couch pretending he's not interested.

okay but real talk ofmd is about people learning to be a community so naturally s1 is gonna have stuff like Stede's main character syndrome and Izzy being an asshole when he's mad. the point is they become better people!

izzy is interesting to me as a character because his anger and frustration is 100% justified but also he doesn't express those things in a way that's appropriate toward friends and peers. he doesn’t even see the characters as those things until s2.

idt izzy's arc is about internal growth so much as it is about him choosing to treat the people around him with kindness and trusting them and letting go of his control issues. (and if ofmd is supposed to be a feel good comedy he should get rewarded for that by the narrative imo.)

🤡Maybe 2027 can be the year when fandom ppl stop insisting that their headcanons & personal interpretations are The Only Correct & Good Ways™️ to watch sthg, especially when the source material doesn't support it & those involved w making it have explicitly refuted certain things as not being canon🤡

I'm so genuinely happy re how many ppl are happy after watching the show. New hyperfixation or just fun with re-watches/reading the books, it feels like it showed up exactly when lots of folks needed sthg to make them feel 🥰🤩 Totally valid if it's not for you but man, it's lovely to see so much joy
