Wearing a mask is an act of resistance. It helps protect your health and the health of those around you. It tells the government you don’t believe anyone is expendable. It says you value community care. It shows solidarity with the disability community. Covid is not over.

Telling people to “tough it out” when they’re sick is ableism. Saying that autism is “unacceptable” is eugenics. Bragging about the strong people who don’t take meds or vaccines? It infers that those who need medications are weak. It’s all eugenics. This regime sees disabled people as less than.

A problem with most people thinking COVID-19 is no longer a threat is that I just had a weird loss prevention dude follow me around a grocery store (occasionally coughing) because he could not fathom that anyone wearing a face mask (despite me also using a cane)- wasn't nefarious.
