it's simultaneously true that how well your game achieves genre emulation is a reliable proxy for how good it is, BUT ALSO that narrative genre is the single least useful descriptor for a TTRPG

I like the late-DS9 uniforms just fine but I have to refute the idea that Starfleet uniforms should look cool. The ideal Starfleet uniform is action pyjamas. The persisting idea that Starfleet should look or be cool has been ruinous.
