This is the most purely anti-American thing I've ever heard a politician say, but the media is too obsessed with 3 DSA candidates winning local elections in NY to pay any attention I guess.

I was listening to a parent describing intentionally coercing their child to Play With Their Imagination & it fucked me up that that’s just a vital thing you have to do now. That imagination is not second nature but a concept that must be understood & a muscle that can be trained or left to atrophy.

This is bleak. I have said this many times before, but our system of near-categorical civil immunity for government officials enables this despotic bullshit. If the people who were involved in delivering this shameful threat had to be concerned about losing their houses, they’d think twice.

Polymarket Says Its Markets Reveal The Truth. Its Ad Strategy Was To Have Influencers Fake Wins.
In theory, there's a way to build a prediction market that actually provides valuable insight on issues through the wisdom of the crowds. But that's not at all what we have with the current crop of prediction markets, mainly Kalshi and Polymarket, which seem to have leap-frogged FanDuel and DraftKings as the deservedly hated gambling apps that pretend not to be gambling apps.
