In trying to figure out what the hell is wrong with Britain and why it fell so completely to the dumbest, 4chan-esque transphobia, what I keep coming back to is that unlike in the US, the UK's political and media elite is much more concentrated. A contagion will spread more quickly among them.

There are ways to fight this. Go to a lawyer. Tell them you want to be trans inclusive. Ask them how. The exact answer depends on your situation but there are several routes through.

Apparently the decision of the WI to rescind trans inclusion was prompted in part by an internal faction. If I were a cis member of the WI, I would want those bigots named,shamed and shunned. Aggressively promoting transphobia should have social sanctions applied to it.

The truth is that there are many good people in good institutions regretfully making the choice to sacrifice trans people because they fear for their own survival and their institution's survival... ...and it is incumbent on us to show them that their choice is not without consequence.
