I think that what we can infer is that insider trading is rampant, there is an expectation that if you are onside with the administration you will not be prosecuted for it, and there is a belief this admin will not be leaving, so YOLO.

Probably worth asking why, if politics is basically a popularity contest, one of the two main parties is able to govern on quite openly saying “fuck you, eat shit, you have to vote for us, or else”. Seems weird, like something might have gone quite badly wrong.

Chicagoland is a friendly, safe, vibrant, & fun place. I’m very happy my kids have grown up in the Rogers Park neighborhood of the city, & in Evanston. They’re both wonderful places. But ICE is attacking us. People are doing everything possible to protect their neighbors. But it’s hard.

Then they shouldn't be in their jobs. They're terrified of losing the power and money they've grown accustomed to. Republicans can gerrymander the House but they can't gerrymander the Senate. It's time for Republican senators to lose their jobs. I hope enough red state voters finally see the light
