Too early to call it an upset alert, but Lorenzo Musetti just took the 1st set feom an erratic and cranky Novak Djokovic, who littered the stat sheet with 18 unforced errors.

Djokovic now complaining in the changeover about the time violation: "You couldn't give me a heads-up, as a gentleman, sportsmanlike?" Too rich.

Ok, I'm still not expecting much, but Musetti just put up three lobs and then put away his own overhead to break Djokovic and it was low-key hilarious. 😂

Gaby Dabrowski and Luisa Stefani beat Su-wei Hseih and Jelena Ostapenko. And then Penko gives them the no-look handshake, which is not easy to do in doubles. 🤦‍♂️😄

A seriously professional win by Jess Pegula and a disappointing showing from Amanda Anisimova, who walked an emotional tightrope the entire match as she struggled and mostly failed to find her range. Pegula hit tough balls with margin and didn't allow Anisimova to tee off with her big backhand.

At the last second, Anisimova unleashes that lethal backhand, and we're into a tiebreak!

Apropos of nothing, I've never been a big fan of the colour orange (and it's even more tainted now for ... reasons) but the various shades that Gauff, Svitolina, and Pegula have worn at this #AusOpen have been rather spectacular.

Iga Swiatek's Wimbledon win last year bought Wim Fissette a lot of time to apply changes to her game. But these lopsided losses continue to add up, and the aura of stress and panic that emanates from Swiatek seems to be getting worse. She just can't find a plan B when the A game isn't there.

I like Rybakina's game and I like her chill vibe. But I cannot celebrate her success -- I worry more about her now knowing that her abusive a-hole coach is gonna be feeling completely smug and untouchable no matter what he says or does.

Rybakina's serve is now firing on all cylinders. Swiatek keeps doing what isn't working, only more so. 🤷‍♂️

Learner Tien takes the 2nd set with a couple of inspired forehands! The match felt like it was limping along to its inevitable conclusion until suddenly, it wasn't. Now, can he press the advantage and make Zverev start to question his life choices.

Interesting results for the two teens who played Sabalenka in the last two rounds. Today, Iva Jovic started strong but faded. In the previous round, Vicky Mboko looked shaky early but got stronger. Not sure if we can glean anything from that. Also, Jelena Dokic on-court interviews must be stopped.

Watching #TennisSky report on ESPN's inane commentators reminds me that here in Canada, the awful time when TSN switches to an ESPN simulcast, usually at the semis, is fast approaching. Sad face.
