I use to not respect myself as a game dev because I got my start as a freeware dev making web games. 2011 was my first release and I have made 25 free projects since then. Meeting other successful game designers that started as freeware devs was super validating this GDC.

On the plane to GDC I was playing Balatro, the person next to me was playing Slay the Spire, and to my right someone was playing Vampire Survivors

I'm just realising that it's okay to not draw and create every day and that "unproductive" days are completely normal and needed in order to preserve the joy of making art. I always feel bad when I take a day off but it prevents me from burning out myself.

I am truly tech agnostic. My gaming rig is windows, my work and personal laptops are macos. I have an android phone, an ipad, and a linux minipc that's plugged into my tv. No one ecosystem can contain me.
