For people that lack the experience/context I arrived to the US in 2014 in an F-1 visa and finished my program in exactly 5 years. Additionally I was under OPT for 1 year. That means 6 years total under F-1 My husband arrived in 2014. Was forced to master out in 2017. Worked in OPT 6mo 1/n

On my 🔪 list: Thrift stores that don’t order clothes by size. Why am I looking through an ENTIRE rack of dresses and seeing no sizes above 10. Like what are we even doing?? Just make a rack that’s size 12/14+ for the entire store so I can look through your <5 pieces 😓

The third book of “The Tale of the Five,” I was surprised & delighted by how queer-forward its in-universe romance is for a series that hit the shelves in 1979.

This is 💯 entryism. He wrote a piece seemingly critical of AI, got caught & admitted to chatGPT use, but also gaslights us it's a search engine & it's useful for checking links — why not just click them? We can't be anti AI if we don't agree we see it. They did it with climate change, tobacco etc.

I am like 30 days deep into fact-checking my 250 page book and I haven’t used a LLM once. I’m really glad when I signed my book contract with MITpress back in early 2024, it prohibited the use of LLMs. I’m a rule follower, so I even stopped using Google when it started being genAI at the top.

God this is so disappointing 😭

Do y'all ever wonder about myth-making in chemistry & physics. One of the myths I was taught was about how short deBroglie's PhD thesis was (something like "he set these two equations equal to each other and solved for wavelength ant that was it!) And I am pretty sure I have perpetuated this myth.
