In conversations with students and advisees, it seems like no small number of them are scaling back a bit on the number of courses/credits they are taking each term. Like they used to take 16-17 credits and have dropped to like 12 or 13 because they are in no rush to graduate.

People are right to be incensed, but there are more names to uplift. ICE killed an immigrant man named Silverio Villegas González in Chicagoland. He had children. Victor Manuel Diaz was kidnapped in Minneapolis and died in ICE custody on January 14. Their names deserve to be repeated, too.

I spent a few minutes at the end of class Friday talking about Letter from a Birmingham Jail. Background, and a few passages. Two things I got out of it (there were a lot really). First, no small number of students thanked me after class and said it was good to know someone cared.
