It’s the busiest shopping period of the year, so we’re hitting pause on buying from corporations that enable Trump’s fascist agenda:

Part of what we lost when newsrooms shifted from dedicated beat reporters to freelancers is the ability to push back/question. News sites uncritically reprint marketing and propaganda, lending it authority it doesn't deserve and actively contributing to misinformation. As with Elon, so with Sam.

one of the coolest things about ChatGPT is how you can actually just never use it. you can fill your whole entire life with simply not once using it. it's incredible.

This headline is going around and the thing that is really bothering me is that buying a single item and then using it and NOT collecting more items is literally the opposite of hoarding.

This is called “chain refoulment” and it’s illegal under both U.S. and international law. And the State Department and ICE know very well what Ghana is doing and simply don’t care.

I once asked a bookseller at a large indie store how many people would have to buy a book for it to get the attention of the store buyer and cause an additional order and they said: Three.

Saw an interesting piece of advice recently: ask the AI search engines for an answer in a field in which you are very knowledgeable. The results will make it clear just how much they get wrong, and how brazen they are about it. Now, apply that to every subject in which you are NOT an expert.

Early drawings of Ollie! The first two are for a different pitch about a girl who adopts a hedgehog. I wanted her design and personality to also be hedgie-like. I shared that with my agent alongside an autobio idea that wasn't quite working. She said, "well, what if you combined them?"

Today, after months of requests, I toured the Broadview ICE Processing Facility. I want to share what I saw. The facility has no food vendor, no medical care, and detainees have to use toilets in the middle of shared cells. These are in no way suitable conditions to be holding anyone — period.

It's not just "consumer smart" it reduces environmental waste, key materials are often mined in slave conditions. The whole tenor of the article is wrong - why is the economy so dependent on us engaging in mass waste?

Can anyone think of a crop that is farmed at the north pole other than ice pops? It's funny that climate change doesn't seem to have affected ice pop availability at all. They really are nature's most plentiful bounty. What's your favourite flavour? Mine's blue - the taste of cool Arctic water.
