in 2010 I did a 50 States Tour (and DC, too). I fell in love with all of them, honestly, because in each one I met someone who could explain why they cared so much about their home. that trip eradicated any patriotism or nationalism I had and replaced it with a deep love for people and culture.

There is exactly one thing that needs to happen on Independence Day. One tradition The only thing that absolutely had to happen was fireworks, and Trump fucked it up because he couldn't stop talking

Any comic artist folks who would be interested in jumping on a pitch with A Publisher? Sequential experience an absolute must, and previously published is preferred. If you enjoy drawing dinosaurs, historical fashions, and stylish action, it'll be up your alley. Happy to share details!

I know this is not the biggest concern going these days, but it stresses me out that basically every artist/writer/critic is now expected to create their own tiny empire instead of getting paid by any existing entity to perform a job they've worked to get good at!!!!

just released a new minicomic on Patreon that has me in tears and I think everyone should read it. It feels reductive to call a story "human," but Matt really does make the most human stories. They're sensitive and lovely and perfect.

Did a bunch of sketches at Heroes Con 2026 but THIS one was the most fun, by a mile. I've been a fan of Evan Dorkin since my buddy Matt Johnson gave me his extra copy of Milk & Cheese #1 in 1991 (which I still have!) but never drew his characters before. I need to draw more creator-owned fan art!
