The 2025 Harvard study stated that the rate of puberty blockers in AFAB youth was “slightly higher” than AMAB youth. But, it is extremely rare.

More AFAB youth get hormones than AMAB youth, but the ratio is about 4:3, so it’s specious to say that the “typical” minor getting cross-sex hormones is AFAB. And you can’t take the numbers of people getting hormones and apply that to puberty blockers.

The first step is to recognize that the TYPICAL minor who identifies as transgender or gender nonconforming, gets neither puberty blockers nor cross-sex hormones. Of the 300,000 - 700,000 minors in that population: < 1,000 get puberty blockers < 15,000 get hormones

It's extremely disheartening watching countries not only target trans people but rollback significant legal protections that were enacted just a few years ago. The reactionary anti gender movement is spreading across the globe.

While it's not been fully enacted into law, it's expected to pass the upper house this week and make it into law. Given it contradicts the Indian Supreme Court 2014 NALSA decision that's established gender self ID, it's certainly to be challenged in the courts.

They didn't just do this with the Cass Review - and they absolutely did it with the Cass Review - they did it with the recent NHS "justification" to remove HRT from 16 and 17-year-olds. They have been unethical at least twice. And they want to trust their honesty in their upcoming adult review? ☠

This isn't a small point. In no other field are we allowed to say "if we cannot have a placebo arm, we can ignore whatever research we want". In no other field are we allowed to say "since we can ignore all research, we can push every alternative as better".

Every 'systematic review' on trans game the UK government has come out with has had one glaring abnormal asymmetry: For studies supporting gender-affirming care, all research can be ignored. They chose a scheme to make the research sound bad to laypeople. Assertions against have NO LOWER LIMIT.

Trans people are so often excluded from decisions made about them. I am concerned the puberty blockers trial has been paused not for clinical reasons, nor because govt listened to trans people's constructive concerns about how it will be run, but as a political decision...

The Supreme Court insisted the Gender Recognition Act did not lay down a rule of statutory interpretation. I think they’re wrong. But ironically, the Court ended up creating a new rule of interpretation in the Scottish Ministers case anyway, a rule that wouldn’t exist without the GRA.

This is a detail worth noting: The employment judge in Kelly v Leonardo took the standard approach. She treated the Gender Recognition Act and the Supreme Court’s guidance in Scottish Ministers as a composite rule of statutory interpretation.
