eh some states require you literally declare name changes in the local newspaper or wherever. Your name is owned by the government and they give approval for you to change it as long as you pass their conditions. That's not how it works at all in the UK. your name is YOUR name. do what you want.

in the UK we don't have the same "legal name" laws as other countries. Your legal name is any name you use. e.g I'm open that Gemma Stone is a pseudonym - it's also my legal name as it's a name I use for professional purposes. You don't have to apply for a deed poll or do a declaration or anything
