This is a Robert Redford story. When I was about 7, my mom went back to college. My dad was often on TDY (Air Force), so she'd take me to class with her. Profs were usually dubious, but I would usually read of draw or quietly listen. They'd often include me in little ways in class, which I loved...

The Redford tributes are all lovely, and yes, many center his hotness, but... the bonus is that we're also getting a lot of vintage Paul Newman hotness. Love that for us.

This has been coming from the beginning. All major democracy-supporting NGOs and foundations have their legal complaints already drafted. And in time, perhaps not even much time, they will win their cases. What is needed most in the meantime is courage. Keep saying what you think, doing what you do.

Do not assume that everything they set out to do is inevitable. They have been successfully fought on multiple fronts, from courtroom wins that have actually stuck to city and state governments that haven't backed down, to activists in the streets organizing against their violence.

I'm very aware of the world burning around us, but I am also holding space to focus on and talk about the stuff I love, because I refuse to let those holding the matches burn that away too.

My special interests are "storytelling" and "fan culture" (as individual concepts, but also tangentially how they interconnect). You're shocked, SHOCKED, I can tell.

As someone who greatly fears being misunderstood and misinterpreted, I definitely picked the right career field. Sigh.

I think it's interesting that so many folks view any close or intense relationship between fictional characters where strong feelings are dramatized - either positive or negative - as inherently romantic. Head canons are cool, but ascribing intent to creators is when it can get uncomfortable.
